If you guys are wondering, yes, I'm always shouting my salutation at you. Hence the "!".

First of all, I'm glad most of you agree about Cheney. And yes, I'm suggesting that's he's
been dead for quite a while now. I think 4 years, Marcus thinks 2. Roughly. The only
problem with our theory is the "shooting his friend in the face" episode. Perhaps it was a
ruse by the Bush administration to throw off the public from his obvious corpsishness? We
can only speculate. But I wouldn't put it past them.

You all are lovely...thanks for the posts and thank to you all who made reservations for the
show already.

Speaking of the show, it's only running for the duration of the Fringe Festival which ends
on Aug. 26th. Right now our last show is the 22nd but, if it does well, they'll add more
dates.

For the pre-theater drinks/dinner thingy on the 16th anyone who's going to the show that
night is welcome to come. I haven't gotten a venue yet but, when I'll do, I'll be sure to let
you know.

As for the name Zander: Marcus and I picked it, Van and Julia picked the spelling and his
middle name isn't Marcus (would be cool though!), it's Lee. We might have been
subconsciously influenced by "Witch Mountain", it's interesting to think about. But, as soon
as we told my sister the name she was like OMG, BUFFY!! She's the biggest "Buffy/Angel"
fan. We didn't know the reference before she told us.

While we're talking about names...I'll call Mariska in the next day or two and get her very
expert opinion on the name pronunciation for August. I'll let you know when I do.

Have a great day guys,

Diane

Hello all, and thanks for hanging in there while I was away and otherwise occupied.

Marcus and I are back in the States now; sometimes it's just so nice to be back in your own
space...I'm sure you all know exactly what I mean.

Thanks for all the anniversary wishes too. We had a great time and were in Ireland with
all the in-laws for the special day. And a very leprachauny good time was had by all. HA

I'm up early trying to track down props for the upcoming show. I'm glad you guys found
out about it; you're all so proactive! I would like to personally invite anyone who can come.
It's a wonderful show written by one of my best friends in the universe. She lived in East
Africa for years taking care of AIDS orphans and the stories she has are AMAZING. She
actually gave birth to her first child a week before Mariska and was worried how she'd do
the show (because she'd unexpectedly been accepted into the Fringe Festival) so soon
afterwards. We (our gang of pals) refused to let her pass up such a great opportunity to
tell her story of hope so I stepped in to produce and Andrew (another one of our best
friends) is directing. Since she's not rich and famous (no nannies) the rest of our group is
taking turns babysitting while we rehearse and even bringing the baby (Zander, Marcus
and I named him!) in for feedings every hour and a half. It's all very comical and difficult
but Julia is holding up and we got a fantastically talented cast for the show to boot. Benga
(from "The Wire" and the season finale of "Conviction" (he held up the courtroom, the nice
one) is the male lead and the two of them are amazing together. I feel really fortunate to
be a part of it and do hope that some of you can come see it.

The festival gives us our venue and times. Our first show is at MIDNIGHT (AHHH!!!) on the
16th of August. I'm trying to arrange a pre-theater party somewhere nearby the stage so
we can have a few drinks first, maybe a bite and then all walk to the show together. It
should be fun.

I'll be around to post more often now so, if you all have any questions, just throw them up
on the board and I'll answer them when I can.

I hope that you are all well, happy and enjoying the summer.

Will write soon,

Diane

PS Dick Cheney is actually dead. Marcus and I think they've been "weekend at Bernieing"
him for years. Whenever he's shown he usually never speaks and is wearing a giant
baseball hat and sunglasses. Coincidence? I think not.

Good morning gang,

It's been a while, so I just wanted to let you know that I'm out here and still care very much
about all of you!  All's well here on my end, just busy, as usual. I'm sure it's the same with
most of you. While I'm here, though, I'll try and answer a few questions.

Favorite color: This one's hard...there are so many that I love but, maybe I should start out
with ones I hate.  (a process of elimination thing...) I dislike purple to a degree that's hard
to explain with words. Odd, I know, it just repells me. Yellow; not my favorite. Neither is
orange. Hmm...I guess my FAVORITES would be turqouise and kelly green.  But then again,
ANY shade of blue is lovely.  Red makes me fiesty, so I like it too. I know, not much of an
answer...it's funny I was talking about this last weekend with one of my best friends.  She
couldn't come up with an answer either.  Maybe it's an age thing.  Well, that's what we
came up with anyway. HA

OK, next; Battle of the Bards...I request nights off and then, if it's possible, production
grants them, usually at the last minute.  It's a scheduling thing and they always do what
they can but, if they can't give me a night off, it's just the way the cookie crumbles and the
nature of this business.  Production has 8 cast members to schedule around and any
number of out of town guest stars with timing conflicts so, they really do try, but there is
A LOT of work to shoot and a limited amount of time to do it in.
I found out at the 11th hour that I wouldn't be able to make it, which was a bummer, and I
made all the requisite apology calls to the Battle gang.  I should apologize to all of you too
who went.  I'm sorry I didnt' make it but, I hope you had fun anyway. I know I would have
LOVED to have been there.

As far as the work crew goes yes, we're all good friends and really like each other.  Mariska
is awesome and an incredible role model.  I was happy to throw her a shower just like I
know she'd be happy to do one for me.  It's really just a great way for all of us at work to
celebrate the important things in life with one another outside of the studio, and we get a
chance to see the crew gals dress up too, which is always fun.

That's all for now.  The dogs are looking at me like their bladders are going to explode so,
I should take them out. NOW!

Have a great day guys, and I'll talk to you soon.

Diane
