Date of Birth - November
17th, 1976
Height - 5' 10"
Diane Neal is back on Wolf Films/NBC Universal Television’s top rated drama “Law
& Order: Special Victims Unit” in the role of Assistant District Attorney Casey
Novak.
Born in Alexandria, Virginia, Neal moved to Colorado as a child when her father,
a federal attorney, transferred to Denver. Needless to say, her dad is very
pleased with his youngest child’s success portraying an A.D.A.
Prior to joining the cast of “Law & Order: Special Victims Unit,” Neal attended
the prestigious Atlantic Theater Company Acting School in Manhattan.
Demonstrating her great range she soon was on the top of every casting
director’s list. The young actress has done everything from comedy to action and
drama in both television and film. Audiences and producers started noticing Neal
for her roles as a rock & roll star on “Ed”, a smart-ass nemesis on “The
American Embassy,” an outlandish fiancée on the Dennis Leary comedy pilot “Adam
and Lenny” and, most recently, as the conflicted cop of tomorrow in Joel
Silver’s pilot “Future Tense.”
Her film credits include the starring role in Dimension cult films’ “Dracula:
Legacy,” and its sequel “Dracula: Ascension with Jason Scott Lee.” Currently,
her film “Second Born,” directed by Jevon Roush is making the indie festival
tour.
Neal has been fortunate enough to live and work in numerous countries around the
world, from Taiwan to Egypt. Traveling, foreign languages and ancient history
are some of her favorite pastimes. Having grown up in Colorado, she also adores
skiing, hiking and camping. She is also devoted to working with charitable
organizations that help promote better living standards and health care for
children and their families around the world.
Currently, Neal resides in New Jersey and is married to Marcus FitzGerald. With
close connections to the fashion industry they can frequently be seen at many of
the city’s top social and charitable events.

Diane Neal is best known for playing Assistant District Attorney Casey Novak on
NBC’s Law & Order: Special Victims Unit. She’s not nearly as serious in person
as the character she plays. “My friends and family know me to be silly, funny
and a little ridiculous,” says Neal, who lives in New Jersey. “So when I first
meet new people, they might expect a stern cross-examination, but they quickly
learn that Casey doesn’t get to express her humor as much as I do.” Born in
Alexandria, Va., Neal was raised in Denver after her father, a federal attorney,
was transferred there. She’s lived and worked in several countries, including
Taiwan and Egypt, and attended the Atlantic Theater Company Acting School in New
York before landing roles on the TV shows Ed and The American Embassy. She also
starred in the film Dracula: Legacy and its sequel, Dracula: Ascension. This
month she’s set to marry engineer Marcus FitzGerald, so she’s been busy making
nearly everything for the wedding from scratch, from save-the-date cards to
place-card holders. “I thought that planning the wedding myself—in a foreign
country, no less—was a good idea: I could keep costs down and have control over
what I wanted the day to be like without the hassle of some Father of the
Bride-type organizer over my shoulder. I’m not quite sure what I was thinking
when I made that decision!”
